Your Essential Amazon Seller Resource Hub: From Account Setup to Branding
We've compiled all the essential learning materials Amazon sellers need to master, from beginning to end, in one convenient location. These resources cover eight key areas, starting with account registration, then moving on to listing, shipping (FBA/FBM), advertising, promotions, customer service, A+ Content, and branding. You can download all these materials at the bottom of this post.
These resources were originally scattered across various topics, but after hearing feedback that it was difficult to know what to read and when, we've consolidated them into a single, easy-to-navigate page. Feel free to go through them sequentially or jump directly to the section that addresses your current needs.
Recommended Learning Path
If you haven't started selling yet, we recommend following the order: 1 (Account) → 2 (Listing) → 3 (Shipping). These three steps are the minimum required to get your products ready for sale on Amazon.
If you're already selling but your sales aren't growing, start with 4 (Advertising) → 5 (Promotions). These areas directly impact your product's visibility and conversion rates.
If your account metrics are struggling or you're facing review issues, 6 (Customer Service) should be your priority. Keep in mind that once seller performance metrics decline, it takes considerable time to recover.
If you've completed brand registration, you can then move on to 7 (A+ Content) → 8 (Branding). These features require brand ownership, which is why they are positioned later in the sequence.
1. Account Registration and Setup
This section covers the steps for creating your Amazon Seller Central account. It's a comprehensive guide that walks you through business information, required documents, and payment method registration, making it perfect to follow along with when you're just starting out.
2. Product Listing
A listing is essentially your product registration and its detailed product page on Amazon. The foundational resources explain what a listing is, the customer's journey to purchase, what to prepare before registration, and how to review your listing after it's live. The optimization guide is designed for refining listings you've already created.
3. Shipping — FBA and FBM
FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) is a method where you send your inventory to Amazon's warehouses, and Amazon handles shipping and customer service. FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant, also known as MFN) is when the seller handles shipping directly. Your choice between the two significantly impacts your cost structure and operational approach.
The FBA resources consist of five parts, covering everything from an introduction to the shipping process, inventory management, and detailed manuals. The FBM resources cover order fulfillment methods, seller performance metrics, and the return process. For FBM, in particular, shipping metrics directly impact your account health, so we strongly recommend reviewing the return process thoroughly before you begin.
4. Advertising
This section covers the basic concepts of search advertising, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Stores. We've provided separate resources for understanding campaign concepts and for actual operational methods. We recommend reviewing the concepts first before moving on to the operational guides to ensure a smoother learning experience.
5. Promotions, Coupons, and Deals
This section covers the various discount tools Amazon provides, such as coupons, Prime Exclusive Discounts, and Deal events. Each tool has different visibility placements and specific conditions, so it's crucial to understand which tool to leverage in which situation, rather than just activating them indiscriminately.
6. Customer Service
This section covers which customer service metrics impact seller performance, how to effectively handle negative reviews, and strategies to enhance the overall customer experience. A significant number of account suspensions stem from a failure to manage these metrics, so if you've started selling, this is a must-read to protect your account.
7. A+ Content (Product Detail Pages)
This is a premium product detail page feature available exclusively to sellers who have completed brand registration. It covers how to create A+ Content, essential guidelines, publishing status, and common reasons for rejection. The rejection reasons resource is particularly useful for identifying the cause if your A+ Content submission is denied.
8. Branding
This section explores why branding is crucial, how it makes a significant difference in cross-border e-commerce, how your Amazon marketing strategies evolve based on brand ownership, and what essential preparations you need to make before building your brand.
Key Considerations for These Resources
Please note that the PDFs provided here are based on 2021 data. Amazon frequently updates its fees and policies, so use these materials to grasp the core concepts and overall flow. However, you must always verify the current fee and policy figures directly in Seller Central.
Amazon now provides its latest educational materials exclusively via web content, not PDFs. You can find the most up-to-date information on the Amazon Seller Academy (https://advertising.amazon.com/academy). Additionally, we regularly summarize and post significant policy changes that impact sellers right here on our blog.
